A new department has been added to the route of the Olympic torch for the Paris 2024 Games. It promises images that will be seen around the world. At the end of last week, the president of the departmental council, Jean Morin, made official the passing of the torch by the Manche department, with an arrival at Mont Saint-Michel (photo above). Half of the cost of the operation, which has been set at 180,000 euros (including tax) by the Paris 2024 OCOG, will be covered by the department, with the rest paid by the Mont Saint-Michel Public Institution. The date of the handover has not yet been determined, but according to Jean Morin, quoted by Ouest-France, it should be between May and June 2024.
