The swimming pool of Aubervilliers will be built

One less file on the desks of the SOLIDEO (Company of delivery of the Olympic works). After a long drama marked by a litany of appeals and several interruptions of construction, the courts finally gave the green light, Thursday, July 7, to the construction of the Olympic pool in Aubervilliers, Seine-Saint-Denis. The aquatic complex is planned for the training of swimmers during the Paris 2024 Games. The administrative court of Paris has validated the project. The work will therefore resume. But the new version of the pool is quite different from the initial plans. The main changes concern a restaurant, now removed from the decor, and especially a 4,000 m2 solarium that should have encroached on the food plots on the Jardins des Vertus, a total area of over 2 hectares. It too was removed by the city of Aubervilliers, after appeals filed by environmental organizations. The delivery of the equipment is now scheduled for April 2024, just in time for the Olympic Games. The 31 million euro project, in its new configuration, is financed for almost a third (10 million euros) by the SOLIDEO.
