The rings are back

It is done. As announced a few days ago, the Olympic rings are back in Tokyo Bay. Withdrawn during the last summer for a maintenance operation, they found their place on Tuesday, December 1st, after a short transport by boat from Yokohama. The huge construction, 15 meters high and 33 meters long, has returned to its original place, a barge installed in Odaiba Bay. It should be lit up at nightfall this Tuesday, but only for one evening. The Japanese do not plan to light it up every night, as they did before the decision to postpone the Tokyo Games. The return of the rings to the bay is part of the joint effort of the IOC and the organisers to increase the signs of confidence in the hosting of the Games next year, despite the health crisis.
