The race is open

The bidding is underway. The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced on Tuesday 1 August that it had officially launched the call for bids to organise the next two editions of the men’s and women’s world championships, in 2025 and 2027. The body has joined forces with an external company, The Sports Consultancy. The FIVB explains that it has invited its 222 member national federations to “express their interest in hosting an event”. Interested parties can submit their expression of interest before 31 August 2023. So there is no time to lose. The World Volleyball Championship now takes place every other year. It brings together 32 teams over 17 days. According to the FIVB, the economic impact of the event could reach 150 million euros for the host countries.
