The public chose the logo

It is done. Following a worldwide online consultation – a first in the Olympic movement – the organisers of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games have unveiled the official logo for the event. Two projects were in competition. The public voted en masse, with just over 871 000 votes cast in 169 countries, between March 7th and 25th, 2021. In the end, a large majority emerged for “Futura”, a logo chosen by 75% of voters. The emblem of the Winter Games in Italy traces the number 26 in a single line, white as ice. A design meant to reflect the ambition of Milan/Cortina 2026 to place sustainability and heritage at the heart of its activities. Following in the footsteps of Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028, Italian organisers have chosen a single visual element, but with variations, for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. In its Paralympic version, “Futura” displays the colors of Italy, red and green, to be more visible to the visually impaired. The winning emblem was unveiled at an online event broadcast from the Milan/Cortina 2026 headquarters in Milan and the National Olympic Committee (CONI) Hall of Honour in Rome.
