A sign. Just appointed Administrator of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), where she succeeded her compatriot Geoffroi Montpetit, Canadian Caroline Saint-Hilaire (pictured above) went last week to Kinshasa, DRC, host city of the 2023 Jeux de la Francophonie (July 28 to August 6). A visit to inspect the competition sites, a little more than three months before the opening, and to discuss the preparation of the event. “It’s only been a week since I took office as OIF Administrator and my first mission is here, to see how the Jeux de la Francophonie are being prepared,” she told local media. I come to meet the authorities and visit the sites. We are almost 3 months away from the Games and we want to make sure that, even if there has been a change in the administration of the OIF, the support continues and will continue until the actual holding of the Games. After visiting the sites, including the Martyrs Stadium, Caroline Saint-Hilaire participated in the meeting of the Orientation Council of the Jeux de la Francophonie, organized for the occasion especially in Kinshasa. As a reminder, the Congolese organizers recently announced that the sites would all be delivered by the end of May.
