Paris 2024 innovates. In the wake of the ceremony of wishes to the press, Wednesday, January 25, the OCOG announced the launch of a ticketing system called “solidarity”. Organized in association with the Secours populaire français, it provides that each buyer of tickets for the Olympic and / or Paralympic Games will have the opportunity to make a donation of € 2 to “allow people in precarious situations to live, them too, this unique moment in the stadiums in 2024.” The initiative was conceived by the OCOG with entrepreneur Alexandre Mars, ambassador of Paris 2024 and member of its board of directors. It will begin on February 15, when the sale of tickets for the Olympic Games opens in packs, and will then be implemented at each phase of ticketing for the general public. The possibility to make a donation of a fixed amount of 2 € per order will be proposed to each buyer at the time of payment. The donations collected will cover not only the purchase of tickets, but also the travel expenses of those who will benefit from them. Before that, the OCOG had already tried to make the Games more accessible, by directly financing the purchase of 100,000 tickets in favor of disadvantaged people, then by giving the possibility to the State and the host communities to acquire one million tickets, in order to support their social programs around the Paris 2024 Games.
