The IOC announced on Thursday 4 May during an online round table with some media: its next International Athletes’ Forum will be held on 1 and 2 October 2023 in Lausanne. Organised since 2002, it should bring together several hundred athletes in the Olympic capital (the ninth edition in 2019, the last one before the health crisis, registered more than 350). Another highlight at the end of the year: the announcement by the IOC of the candidates for the Athletes’ Commission for the elections planned in conjunction with the Paris 2024 Games. This should take place before the end of 2023. Five positions will be up for grabs, to fill the vacancies left by the athletes elected for eight years during the Rio 2016 Games: South Korea’s Seung-min-Ryu, New Zealand’s Sarah Walker, Hungary’s Daniel Gyurta, Russia’s Yelena Isinbayeva, and Germany’s Britta Heidemann.
