The flame will be lit on April 16

We’ll have to wait until June 23 to discover the full route of the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay. But the first date of the ceremonial is now known. According to Reuters, citing an anonymous source, the flame will be lit on April 16, 2024 in ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Games. It will then remain in Greece for a week, before being handed over to the Parisian organizers in Athens, before departing for France by sea. The flame will embark on the Belem, a three-masted ship. It is due to arrive in Marseille on May 8.
