We’re off. Or almost. The torch for the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Winter Games is in South Korea. With just over three months to go before the event (19 January to 1 February), it arrived on Monday 9 October at Incheon international airport, not far from Seoul. But she will not begin her tour of the country until Wednesday 11 October, exactly 100 days before the opening ceremony. After Seoul, where a ceremony is planned at Seoul Plaza, the torch relay will stop off in four major cities – Busan, Sejong, Jeju and Gwangju – before criss-crossing the eleven districts and seven towns of Gangwon province. The Youth Olympic Flame began its journey in Greece on 3 October, with a lighting ceremony held in the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
