The first delegations have reached Hangzhou

With less than two weeks to go, the first foreign delegations are arriving in China for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou (September 23 to October 8). Xinhua reports that three representatives of the Hong Kong team landed at Hangzhou Xiaoshan international airport on Saturday 9 September. They were the first members of a foreign delegation to arrive in the Chinese city ahead of the continental multisport event. They reached the athletes’ village after completing all the entry and accreditation procedures at the airport. Around forty people from the United Arab Emirates, South Korea and Singapore landed later in the day in Hangzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai. According to the Chinese authorities, 20,000 to 30,000 people will converge on Hangzhou for the Asian Games, with a peak in arrivals expected between 21 and 23 September.
