The eFIBA doubles its participation

FIBA continues to make inroads into the world of e-sports. Present at the IOC’s Olympic Esports Series, the world basketball body last year launched the first season of eFIBA, its official NBA 2K24 tournament. From 3 October, it will be back with a second edition that promises to be a record-breaker. No fewer than 61 nations – more than twice as many as in the first season – will be represented in a competition that will start at continental level, with qualifying rounds (3 October to 2 November) and then finals (7 to 9 November), before finishing with the first eFIBA World Finals. These will bring together the winning team from each regional final, plus the two best European teams, in Jonkoping, Sweden, on 25 and 26 November.
