The next World Combat Games, to be held from 20 to 30 October 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will be a major first. For the first time, the multi-sport event will include Paralympic disciplines. There will be six of them – aikido, muay thai, arm wrestling, ju-jitsu, sambo and savate – and they will be added to the official competition programme. The World Combat Games will be held at the King Saud University Arena Complex in Riyadh. They will bring together more than 1,700 athletes from 80 countries. Organised under the authority of SportAccord, they have been held only twice since their inception, in Beijing in 2010 and in St Petersburg in 2013.
