The catalogue is getting thicker

With less than three years to go before the event, the Paris 2024 OCOG has further expanded its thick catalogue of Games Preparation Centres (GPCs). It already had more than 620 training sites on the French territory, selected in October 2020 at the end of a first bidding phase. It now nearly lists 160 additional sites. This new batch, presented on Thursday, October 7th, mainly includes GPCs intended to host the preparation of athletes for the new disciplines added on the programme of the Paris 2024 Games. Selected between December 2020 and March 2021 by Paris 2024 teams, in conjunction with the DRAJES and the national federations, they will be listed at the end of 2021 on the website referencing the Games Preparation Centres that are candidates to host international delegations. Four new disciplines that were not part of the first phase are now included: 3X3 basketball, with 14 GPCs selected, breaking (19), skateboarding (7), and climbing (9). In total, 76 communities with the “Terre de Jeux 2024” label will be included in the catalogue. A third and final application phase has been launched. It will be completed in spring 2022.
