The bobsleigh track prepares its future

The Chinese can rub their hands: the bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track in Yanqing, built especially for the Beijing Games, will not become a “white elephant”. The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) announced on Sunday, February 20, its decision to organize competitions there over the next five years. An agreement was signed between the body chaired by the Italian Ivo Ferriani and the local authorities. It provides for the holding in Yanqing of stages of the Bobsleigh World Cup and the Asian Cup, but also training camps. “Our common vision for this facility is that it will be used for high-level sport and for welcoming tourists,” insisted Ivo Ferriani.
