The 2024 World Championships in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia never stops. It is piling up international sporting events one after the other, with no time to take a breather. The latest: the World E-Sports Championships. The 16th edition of this major IESF (International Electronic Sports Federation) event will be held next year, for the first time, in the Persian Gulf kingdom. The Saudis received the IESF flag from its president, Vlad Marinescu, this week in Iasi, Romania, during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Worlds (pictured above). The 2023 edition brought together a record 601 players from 111 countries. They competed for world titles in six electronic games: CS:GO, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, eFootball™ 2023, Tekken 7, and PUBG Mobile.
