SportAccord returns. After an enforced five-year hiatus, imposed by the health crisis and then the conflict in Ukraine, the international sports convention will be back on the Olympic calendar next year. It will take place in the spring of 2024 (April 7 to 11) in Birmingham, England. SportAccord made the announcement via a press release on Tuesday August 29, specifying that the event would be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham, host city of the Commonwealth Games in 2022. This will be the second edition of the SportAccord convention in England since its creation, the first having taken place in London in 2011, a year before the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The last edition of SportAccord took place in Gold Coast, Australia, in 2019. Subsequent editions, scheduled for Beijing and Ekaterinburg, have been cancelled.
