The 2023 World Championships will go to Belgrade

The year 2023 promises to be a busy one for Belgrade. It will be marked by combat sports. After inheriting the world wrestling championships, initially awarded to the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, the Serbian capital has just been awarded the organisation of the MMA World Championships. The international body of the discipline – the IMMAF – has announced that the global event will take place from 12 February 2023 at the Stark Arena, a multifunctional venue dedicated to sport, culture, fairs and exhibitions. Organised in partnership with Arena Sport TV, the event will bring together the senior and junior categories. With this competition, IMMAF will be able to offer a full international calendar next year, with continental and world championships, for the first time since the beginning of the health crisis.
