Students will design the mascot

The trend in Italy is towards consultation. After asking the general public to select the event’s logo (photo above), the organisers of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games are now turning to young people to imagine the official mascot or mascots. A competition has been launched among Italian students. They have been asked to design a mascot for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The specifications remain very open, leaving the applicants free to express their creativity. But it is specified that the projects must embody the spirit of the Italian people. The best ideas will then be produced by design workshops, before being submitted to the general public via a dedicated digital platform. The selected mascot will be officially presented in 2023 during the Sanremo festival.
