The Andalusian city will also host the annual World Triathlon Congress. The World Championship Finals will award world titles in the Elite, Under 23, Junior and Para Triathlon categories, as well as in the Junior and Under 23 mixed relay. The event will also serve as the World Championships in standard distance, sprint and mixed relay in the different age categories. World Championship finals have been held in London, Budapest, Beijing, Auckland, Chicago, Gold Coast, Lausanne, Edmonton and Abu Dhabi in recent years. This year they are to be held in another Spanish city, Pontevedra.
