Six staff members from the torch relay tested positive for coronavirus

Not a good sign. Six staff members from the Tokyo Olympics torch relay have tested positive for COVID-19. The six, including a man in his 20s and another in his 30s, took part in the torch relay in Kagoshima southern prefecture on April 27th, the organizing committee said in a statement. They helped with traffic control – three of them in the city of Amami and the other three in Kirishima’s township. All of them wore masks. Early last month, two other people who participated in the torch relay on the Shikoku island had already been diagnosed with COVID-19, including a police officer in his 30s who was assigned to traffic control.
