With just over 300 days to go until the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (D – 304), the COJO has announced that one French département has just achieved the feat of now having 100% of its municipalities labeled “Land of the 2024 Games”. Not surprisingly, it’s Seine-Saint-Denis. In addition to the athletes’ village, the Paris region is home to four competition venues: the Stade de France (athletics and closing ceremonies) and the Aquatic Center (artistic swimming, diving and water polo) in Saint-Denis, the climbing venue in Le Bourget, and the Arena Paris Nord in Villepinte (boxing, modern pentathlon and seated volleyball). The Terre de Jeux label is intended for local authorities and sports movements committed to the Olympic and Paralympic adventure. It aims to highlight their best practices.
