With less than 300 days to go until the Paris 2024 Games, Seine-Saint-Denis is already looking beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France. The département is looking ahead to the 2026 Youth Games in Dakar. A delegation led by Stéphane Troussel (photo above), President of the Conseil départemental, will be travelling to Senegal from 3 to 7 November. The programme for the trip includes the département’s participation in the second edition of the Dakar en Jeux festival, the meeting of the Dioko Alliance – which brings together French and Senegalese players involved in cooperation projects in the Olympic and sporting fields – for Dakar 2026, and the Sport Impact Summit. For the Paris 2024 Games, Seine-Saint-Denis is announcing its intention to propose to the organising committee of the Dakar 2026 YOG that it set up a “Maison Dakar 2026” in the Parc Georges-Valbon in La Courneuve, one of the main venues for the celebrations planned in the département.
