Security challenge

The information is reported by Le Figaro: the big manoeuvres will soon begin in France for the security of the Paris 2024 Games. With less than 800 days to go before the opening, the Ministry of the Interior will be deploying a major operation in several security-related sectors. At the top of the list is the technological modernisation of the fight against terrorism. In particular, the police will target malicious drones likely to fly over the capital. There are also plans to devote more resources to artificial intelligence. French experts want to improve the issue of algorithms in the fight against terrorism. To do this, they will use software capable of identifying potential suspects on a case-by-case basis and then generating alerts in the event of unusual digital behaviour. Another priority is cyber attacks. According to a source at the Ministry of the Interior, Tokyo was the target of 4 billion computer raids during the last Summer Games, but the number of attacks could be multiplied by three or four in 2024. The Paris 2024 Games will be the main focus of our action,” explained a person close to the dossier to Le Figaro, “a real security challenge at the end of the five-year period. On the crucial issue of public transport, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, will soon announce new measures to improve the protection of users. A stronger presence of police and gendarmerie patrols at the most critical times is being considered, as is the creation of a transport directorate within the ministry.
