Russia keeps the Worlds

Their suspension from the Olympic movement for a period of two years, confirmed by the CAS last December, does not change anything: Russia should be able to retain the host status of most of the world meetings initially planned in the country. This is evidenced by the decision of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), meeting last week by videoconference, to keep the 2021 World Championships in Moscow. They will take place from September 15th to 22nd. At the same meeting, the IFSC Executive Committee decided that its next Annual General Meeting, initially scheduled for April 23-24, 2021 in Paris, would ultimately be held in virtual mode. It will be extended by one day (April 23 to 25). On the other hand, it has been confirmed that the 2021 World Cup could well start this spring, in the Swiss village of Meiringen, with two days of face-to-face competition on April 16 and 17.
