Russia acts as if it will be at the Games

A decision on the participation of Russian athletes under neutral status at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will not be taken until the end of next month, at the IPC General Assembly, but Russia has already done its sums. If it receives a favourable response from the Paralympic body, its delegation could number up to 300 people. The president of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), Pavel Rozhkov, told the TASS agency that he had given this figure to the Paris 2024 OCOG in response to a request for clarification on the presumed size of his delegation. “Taking into account all present-day criteria, our preliminary list of delegation members includes some 300 people,” explained Pavel Rozhkov. The Russian leader explained that he had already eliminated from the list all team sports – wheelchair basketball and rugby, sitting volleyball and boccia – as well as the swimming and athletics relays.
