Rowing takes over

The series of test events for the Paris 2024 Games continues from this Wednesday, August 2, with the Under-19 World Rowing Championships in Vaires-sur-Marne (August 2 to 6). The event is traditionally held on the Games site a year before the Olympic events. The aim is to test the facilities, including the water surface and the new finishing tower. The Junior World Rowing Championships are one of the few test events at the Paris Games to be run by an international federation. In fact, they are the first on a list that also includes the fourth leg of the Open Water Swimming World Cup, scheduled for August 5 and 6 in the Seine. Some 615 young rowers from 53 nations will be competing in Vaires-sur-Marne. The program includes fourteen disciplines. Unlike the sailing test event, held last month in Marseille, it is open to the public.
