Romania leads the way

Little expected. On the fourth day of the Games of La Francophonie 2023 in Kinshasa (28 July to 6 August), on Monday 31 July, Romania dominated the medals table. With a strong presence in the DRC, the Romanians have already won 13 medals, seven of them gold. They are ahead of Morocco (11 podium finishes, including 5 titles) and Cameroon (12 medals, including three gold). After just three days of competition, the DRC has already met its challenge. On Monday evening, the host country had a total of 11 medals, including two titles. It was 4th in the medals table, just ahead of France (6 medals, including two gold). At the last Games of La Francophonie, held in Côte d’Ivoire in 2017, the DRC delegation won just three medals.
