Priority to the Paris 2024 Games

The crisis in the French Olympic movement, marked on Thursday May 25 by the resignation of CNOSF President Brigitte Henriques, is being closely followed in Lausanne. Just a few hours after the former soccer international announced her resignation after less than two years in office, the IOC issued a comment. A spokesperson for the body told AFP that the IOC was now calling on the CNOSF to “focus” on the Paris 2024 Games, scheduled for 14 months from now. The IOC “appeals to everyone’s responsibility so that the internal conflicts that have affected the CNOSF in recent months cease“, the Olympic body continued, not without thanking Brigitte Henriques for the work accomplished since her election in June 2021.
