Premiums on the rise

Good news for French athletes. Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, took advantage of the date of D-100 days before the opening of the Tokyo Games, Wednesday, April 14th, to announce a revaluation of the bonuses granted to Olympic and Paralympic medalists. A gold medal will now be accompanied by a check for 65 000 euros, compared to 50 000 euros at the Rio 2016 Games. A silver medal will earn 25 000 euros (20 000 in 2016). Finally, a bonus of 16 000 euros will be awarded to a bronze medal (13 000 euros at the Rio Games). Note: the bonuses paid by the public authorities will be identical for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
