Poland to replace China

China continues to return one by one all the international events it was supposed to host in 2022, and now also in 2023. The International Canoe Federation (ICF) announced that it has relocated the 2023 World Junior and Under 23 Slalom Championships to Krakow, Poland. They were originally scheduled to be held in Miyi County, located in China’s Sichuan Province. “But continued uncertainty about the situation of the COVID in that country has made it difficult to proceed,” says the ICF. “The Chinese Canoe Federation requested last month that the 2023 event be moved.” Krakow last hosted the junior and under-23 world championships in 2019. The Polish city regularly hosts World Cup events, most recently in June 2022. The 2023 Worlds will take place from August 15-20.
