Another win for France. At its meeting on Tuesday 26 September, the UEFA Executive Committee decided to relocate the body’s next annual congress. Originally scheduled to take place in Madrid, it will now be held in Paris on 8 February 2024. The draw for the group phase of the 2024/25 Nations League will also be held in the French capital on the same day. Another, more expected decision: the replacement of Spain’s Luis Rubiales as UEFA vice-president. Forced to step down as President of the Spanish FA after the controversy surrounding the forced kiss on the day of the 2023 Women’s World Cup Final, he resigned from UEFA on 10 September. He has been replaced by Albanian Armand Duka as one of the body’s five vice-presidents.
