Over one million tickets sold in 48 hours

A “very strong enthusiasm“. This is the expression chosen by the Paris 2024 OCOG to summarise the first results of the second ticketing phase of the next Olympic Games. If the figures are anything to go by, the phrase is not an exaggeration. Launched on Thursday 11 May, it was marked by the sale of more than one million tickets in just 48 hours. At the end of the first two days of sales, i.e. Thursday 11 and Friday 12 May, some twenty sports/disciplines were already sold out: breaking, BMX freestyle and racing, skateboarding, climbing, road and track cycling, mountain biking, fencing, triathlon, marathon, 3×3 basketball, diving, equestrian sports of all disciplines, race walking, rhythmic gymnastics, modern pentathlon, marathon and artistic swimming, shooting. The top 5 best-selling sports/disciplines: football, athletics, beach volleyball, tennis and basketball. This second phase concerns single tickets for all sessions of the Olympic Games, including the ceremonies.
