Opponents do not give up

With one week to go before the opening of the Tokyo Games, the mobilization of the opponents to the organization of the Olympic event does not show sign of weakness. Leading the movement, Japanese lawyer Utsunomiya Kenji. This former person in charge of the Japanese Federation of Bar Associations had launched last May an online petition asking for the cancellation of the Games. He held a press conference on Thursday, July 15th, to explain that his initiative had collected more than 450 000 signatures. Earlier in the day, Utsunomiya Kenji gave a document listing all the signatures to the Tokyo metropolitan government. Another petition, launched in Japan with the same cancellation objective, gathered more than 100 000 signatures.
