One prefect replaces another

The post had been vacant for two months. It is no longer vacant. Thierry Mosimann (pictured above) has been appointed security coordinator for the Paris 2024 Games, according to a decree published at the end of last week in the Journal officiel de la République française. The former prefect of Calvados will replace another former prefect, Ziad Khoury, who was forced to resign on Monday 21 August following a report of “inappropriate behaviour” towards a woman during a trip to London in December 2021. Ziad Khoury, 53, former prefect of the Haute-Saône and Aisne departments, was suspended on 21 March “as a precautionary measure” pending an administrative investigation. Before taking up the post of national security coordinator for the Paris 2024 Games in June 2021, he had supervised security at Euro 2016 football tournament in France.
