At D – 500 day of the opening, the Occitania region is already imposing itself as one of the lungs of the preparation of the delegations, French and foreign, before the Games of Paris 2024. The CREPS of Montpellier alone will see the athletics delegations of South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, the French judo, BMX, volleyball, triathlon, skateboard, table tennis, sailing, dance and athletics teams, the Australian rugby 7s team and the Japanese volleyball selection. The CREPS in Font-Romeu has signed agreements with the French federations of triathlon, cycling, rowing, wrestling, canoeing, athletics, rugby 7s (women), modern pentathlon, taekwondo and swimming (open water). Less known, the commune of Espalion, situated in the department of Aveyron, will see landing before the Games the table tennis players of Djibouti, Benin, Ivory Coast, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Togo. In Tarbes, the Chinese delegation of female fencing will put its trunks for a training course of preparation of four weeks. Finally, the aquatic center in Canet-en-Roussillon (photo above), not far from Perpignan, will host the Australian swimming federation for preparatory courses.
