North Korea at the next Asian Games? According to several sources, the Pyongyang authorities intend to send a delegation to the next edition of the continental event, scheduled for 23 September to 8 October 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The North Korean Olympic Committee has reportedly submitted applications for several dozen athletes. North Korea has not participated in any international sporting event since 2020 and the start of the health crisis. It decided to withdraw from the 2021 Tokyo Games, citing the risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic. In response, the IOC suspended the country until the end of 2022, denying it the opportunity to participate in the Beijing Winter Games.
