Netflix goes for the sprint

World Athletics announced on Thursday August 17, two days before the opening of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest (August 19 to 27): next year, Netflix will broadcast a six-part documentary series devoted to the world’s best sprinters. It will be produced by Box2Box Films, already behind the F1 series “Drive to Survive“. Filming should be completed during the World Championships in Budapest. Broadcast is scheduled before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Commented Sebastian Coe, President of World Athletics: “This series has the potential to lift the veil on sport, and sprinting in particular, and make a whole new audience understand that even if it only takes 10 seconds to run a 100m, it takes 10 years to become the best in the world. Our athletes have such rich personal histories, and they come from every continent on the planet. No other sport can match that.”
