There is no doubt about it: NBCUniversal has high expectations for the Paris 2024 Games. The American broadcasting group, which holds the exclusive rights to the event in the United States, has announced that it has signed an “expanded” agreement with Twitter with a view to the next Summer Games. In broad terms, it is based on the principle of the partnership established for the Tokyo 2020 Games, but with a serious boost. Above all, it will begin much earlier in the run-up to the event. From February 2024 until the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday 26 July, Twitter will be in Olympic mode, with coverage of the American selections in several sports on the programme, including athletics and swimming. At 25 days to go, a review account will be launched, with daily videos of athletes and the latest pre-Olympic events. During the Paris 2024 Games, the NBC Olympics Twitter account will take over, with a broadcast of the highlights of the competitions. Finally, a daily broadcast will be offered to the account’s subscribers, live from the French capital, with highlights of the day, athlete interviews and stories from Paris and the other host cities. All content will be broadcast live on the @NBCOlympics account.
