Munich 2022 has unveiled its medals

The last straight line for the preparation of the second edition of the European multisport championships, held from August 11 to 21 in Munich. The organizers presented the medal designs this week at a ceremony at the Munich 2022 pop-up store on the German city’s Marienplatz. A total of 177 sets of medals will be awarded over 11 days of competition in the nine Olympic disciplines on the program – athletics, beach volleyball, canoeing, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, sport climbing, table tennis and triathlon. The design of the 1,300 items produced for the European Championships was created in cooperation with the agency Designworks, a subsidiary of the BMW Group, the official premium partner of the event. It highlights all the nuances of the shape of the roof of the Olympiapark in Munich. The medals are the same for all sports, but the difference is marked by the color of the ribbons, orange for athletics, for example, turquoise for rowing. The pictogram of the sport is engraved on the back, where it is enhanced by the name of the medallists.
