More than 200 Russian athletes pinned

WADA-AMA

The number is impressive. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), more than 200 Russian athletes have been sanctioned for doping as part of the “LIMS” operation conducted at the Moscow anti-doping laboratory. The sanctions are the result of an extensive investigation conducted by WADA’s Intelligence and Investigation Team into data and samples from the Moscow laboratory’s information management system. In detail, 203 Russian athletes were sanctioned by 17 anti-doping organizations. Seventy-three others are currently under investigation. Another 182 cases are still under investigation by WADA. The Russian anti-doping agency (RUSADA) was suspended for two years, until December 2022, by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Its suspension has now been lifted, but it has still not been reinstated by WADA.
