Mobilisation to save allotments

The mobilisation continues, in Seine-Saint-Denis, against the construction work of future Olympic venues. Nearly 500 people demonstrated, Saturday April 17th in Aubervilliers, to defend 18 plots of allotment gardens which must disappear in favour of an aquatic center for the Paris 2024 Games. The 2.5 hectares of this green space located less than 4km north of Paris will be cut by nearly 4 000m2, over the coming weeks, for the construction of a training center for the Olympic swimming events, but also for the creation of a solarium and several leisure facilities. The gathering of opponents, joined by some local elected officials, began in front of the Aubervilliers town hall, ending with a human chain formed around the allotment gardens.
