Martin Gibbs succeeds Nis Hatt

Management change at SportAccord. Nis Hatt, the managing director for the past ten years, is leaving. Martin Gibbs (pictured above) is taking over. The former chief of staff, then director general, of the International Cycling Union (UCI) has been appointed interim director general. A lawyer by training and an advisor to several international organisations and bodies on issues of governance and ethics, Martin Gibbs has dual British and French nationality. His arrival at the head of SportAccord comes at a time when the organisation is entering “a phase of change and opportunity“, in the words of its president, the Italian Ivo Ferriani, who is also president of GAISF, the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) and a member of the IOC Executive Board. Among the priorities of the new Director General is the organisation of the next International Federations Forum, scheduled for 28-29 November in Lausanne.
