London returns to the circuit

World Athletics Diamond League returns to London. The British leg of the premier track and field meeting circuit will return to the Olympic Stadium next year after a three-year hiatus. The information was made official on Monday 8 August by the British Athletics Federation (UK Athletics). The 2020 event in London was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The next one, in 2021, was moved to Gateshead because the cost of converting the football stadium into an athletics venue was deemed too high. This year, the Diamond League made a stop at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, host of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
