LeBron James won’t take part in the Olympics

LeBron James

This is a hard blow for Tokyo’s men’s basketball tournament. According to American website The Athletic, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the two stars of the Los Angeles Lakers, have scrapped their participation in the Games. Already out of the race for the NBA title, the two players have supposedly gone on holiday, giving up wearing Team USA’s jersey. LeBron James, 36, suffered a sprained right ankle this season that kept him out of action for a month. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis suffered an inflamed right Achilles tendon before injuring his groin. Both players had already withdrawn from the Rio Games in 2016. On the other hand, Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and Damian Lillard (Portland Trailblazers), whose season is also over, could be tempted by the Olympic adventure.
