He promised it and kept his word. John Eliasch, the new president of the International Ski Federation (FIS), will soon no longer be the CEO of the HEAD Group. The Swedish billionaire had announced during the campaign that he would give up his position if he won the election to succeed Gian Franco Kasper. He confirmed on Monday that he would keep his promise. “It has been a privilege to lead HEAD for the past 25 years, but it is now time for a new challenge,” said John Eliasch in a statement. “FIS has enormous potential and my new role as president will be the focus of my attention. I leave HEAD in the hands of very capable people, with an exceptionally strong management team”. John Eliasch joined the HEAD Group in 1995. He was elected President of the FIS on June 4th, having beaten his three rivals, Urs Lehmann of Switzerland, Sarah Lewis of Britain, and Mats Årjes of Sweden.
