The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) announced via a press release that the 2022 European Championships will be held in Italy, in the small town of Lignano Sabbiadoro, not far from Venice. The continental event will take place from September 26 to October 1, with the competition starting on September 27. Two separate tournaments will be held, each with 16 weight categories for both men and women: the first will be reserved for seniors, the second for juniors. According to the IMMAF count, Europe remains the major continent of MMA, with 43 member nations, and six nations in the world’s top 10 among seniors, including Sweden, Ukraine, Ireland, Spain and Italy.
