ITA goes into training

ITA breaks new ground. The International Testing Agency announces the launch of a global training programme for Doping Control Officers (DCOs). It aims to “set a new professional benchmark for the international basic training of DCOs“, including the opportunity to acquire “the technical and personal skills required for the role“. Supervised by experts, the programme is launched in partnership with Berlinger Special AG, the leading manufacturer of doping control equipment. It is open to individual candidates who wish to learn how to become a DCO and have some knowledge or experience of working with athletes. The programme is also open to all anti-doping organisations: national anti-doping agencies, international sports federations, event organisers, private sample collection agencies… It includes e-learning, three days of face-to-face training, access to practical field resources, an examination and a practical skills assessment.
