Predictable. The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has announced that the final round of the Open Water Swimming World Cup, which was due to take place on December 1 and 2 in Eilat, in the Red Sea, will in the end not be held in Israel due to the conflict. It has been moved to Portugal, where it will be held on December 2 and 3 in Funchal. The final event of the season, the competition will determine the winners of the 2023 World Cup. World Aquatics’ decision follows several other relocations of sporting events originally scheduled to take place in Israel. All international football matches over the next two weeks, including the Israel-Switzerland Euro 2024 qualifier, have been postponed by UEFA.
