IOC inspection visit

A busy week for the Paris 2024 OCOG. Between Monday June 5 and Wednesday June 7, Tony Estanguet and his team are hosting another visit from the IOC Coordination Commission. This will be the penultimate visit before the opening of the Olympic Games. Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant, its Chairman, and Christophe Dubi, the IOC’s Executive Director for the Olympic Games, will lead a 17-strong delegation, including two presidents of an international federation of a summer Olympic sport, Turkey’s Ugur Erdener (World Archery) and Spain’s Marisol Casado (World Triathlon). The Coordination Commission will meet on Monday June 5 at the OCOG headquarters in the Pulse building in Saint-Denis, for a presentation of the organization’s main dossiers, including the budget, partnerships and competition venues. The following day, the delegation will visit the future Olympic aquatic center. The exercise will conclude with a press conference in the early afternoon of Wednesday June 7. The next highlight for the Paris 2024 OCOG promises to be a more solemn one, with the unveiling of the Olympic torch relay route at the Sorbonne on Friday June 23.
